Mandatory Guarantees under the MCCIPsMandatory Guarantees under the MCCIPs14 Jan 2010At the Import/Export JCCC meeting held in December 2009 a speaker from HMRC advised that mandatory Guarantees under the MCCIPs are being introduced in 2013 for certain Customs Procedures - Special Procedures (Inward Processing Relief (IPR), Outward Processing Relief (OPR), Customs Warehousing, Temporary Admissions and End Use), Temporary Storage and Transit.
The expansion of Guarantee requirements for both debts incurred and debts which may be incurred poses us with a significant new challenge. Our overall objective will be to ensure that where changes are introduced they will be communicated timely and where possible, it is UK Customs intention to minimise burdens on business.
It is hoped a 'one off' Trade meeting can take place towards the end of February to discuss any initial concerns or issues. It would be helpful if you could consider what impacts Guarantees might have upon your businesses.
For further information, please see 050315_Guarantee_letterto_commission.doc Please contact the Secretariat who will forward any comments/concerns to the JCCC representative to present to the meeting by no later than 29th January. » login to post comments |
